“Jerusalem rebuilt – a city entwined with its people (Psalms 122:3) – in which all of Israel will unite as friends.” – Jerusalem Talmud, Hagiga 21a
Beit Matanya is named after Matanya Robinson of blessed memory. Matanya was a very special Mechina graduate who was killed while serving his country during IDF Operation Defensive Shield. Our headquarters, Beit Matanya, the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg – Jerusalem Foundation Building, is located in the Gilo Aleph Public Housing Project Neighborhood.
With the wonderfully generous support of many partners, in 2009 we extensively renovated our building, dedicating it in Matanya’s memory. The new space enabled us to do so much more. Now six years later are again at a crossroads of growth.
With the support of the Jerusalem Municipality we have begun planning another significant step to greatly expand our current space. With the blessings of much growth in our programs, we look forward to expanding our building to provide the needed infrastructure to house the energy of the organization’s work.
